Michael Jackson Jacket sells for 1.8 Million |
On the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, the auction of his Thriller Jacket ended at 1.8 million. The jacket was initially thought to get around $200.000 to $400,000, but the auction held by Julien’s Auctions at Beverly Hills got a whopping $1.8 Million for the blood red and black jacket. The jacket also holds Michael Jackson’s signature, which he gave to his long time dress designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush just before his death in 2009. The Michael Jackson jacket is now owned by Milton Verret, an Austin businessman, who will be taking the jacket on a tour to children’s hospitals. The proceeds of the auctions, part of them, will go to the Shambala Reserve, home to Michael Jackson’s two Bengal Tigers.
